Who Is Jerry Nash?

I spent my early childhood in the small South Georgia town of Baxley.  It wasn’t until later years I would understand the significance of attending, being saved in, and baptized in Consolation Missionary Baptist Church.  When I was 9 years old, my family moved to Florida during the construction boom where my father worked in construction. I was blessed to be raised in a Christian home by a Godly mother and a father who served as a deacon.

I graduated from High School in Daytona Beach, FL.  After a few years, I received 2 degrees from the University of South Carolina then went on to earn the Master of Divinity Degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  I later earned the Doctor of Ministry Degree from the Billy Graham School of Missions, Evangelism and Church Growth of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY.  However, I am not a Calvinist.  By then I had learned the difference between the beliefs of Primitive Baptists and Missionary Baptists.

After graduating from New Orleans Seminary, I served as a pastor in North Georgia for a few years then moved to East Tennessee and served a congregation there for ten years.  In 1999, I returned to Florida to become Director of Missions for the Harmony Baptist Association in Trenton, FL, and served there until retiring in 2017.

The original plan for my retirement/transition was to focus on Senior Adult Ministry and Senior Adult Travel Inc.  That transition is working well and providing much-needed opportunities for many Senior Adults (and some younger folks).  However, in response to questions and current opportunities, this website is an attempt to bring together a few resources which answer some questions and provide a few ministry ideas and suggestions.  I don’t have all the answers, but I have a few answers.  I am also optimistic that my friends and colleagues will bring some fresh ideas to share with pastors and congregations.

As I said on the Homepage, I am very much aware that I don’t know it all.  But I hope to bring together some resources from my experience, and from people a whole lot smarter than I am.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, ideas or suggestions.
